It's not particularly complicated, but it's a piece which I did entirely by hand for a change (and for a tutorial)!
It's been a LONG TIME since I broke out the knives, sheets of tone etc. But it feels good to know that I can still do it without any digital additions at all
Having now tried out that screentone, I have even more respect for you than before! XD Wow, it's really difficult! I used thick card, but somehow still managed to cut through it in some places, and it's really difficult slicing away the parts you don't want, especially with more than one layer. I'll have to keep practising!
Traditional screentone sounds very complicated. I won a load of Letraset stuff in a competition including some screentone but have been too scared to try it out yet
This is really nice! I love the motion in the pose, especially her hair ^^
Do a small illustration with thick lines first on thick card, if you're scared at first! Cut out more than you need, stick on very lightly, then slice away unwanted bits, then put a sheet of paper on top before sticking down firmly. Argh, I have sooooo many tips for you, but I'm not allowed to say too much until the book comes out XD

PS: I'd love to see that tutorial.
